The history of our school is a story of modern language education, small classes, student support and values that build the school community every day.
The beginning of the school
The history of our school began on 1 September 2016, when the governing body, Ms Katarzyna Nurkowska, decided to create a unique place: a modern primary school with a language profile, responding to the needs of children and parents in the 21st century.
The school is located in a building with rich educational traditions. Previously, a municipal school with grades I-III operated here. When the city decided not to continue running the institution, the building was purchased and thoroughly modernised. A modern educational space was created, with well-equipped classrooms, a rich base of teaching resources and a new gym. The school is located in the centre of Piotrków Trybunalski, in a convenient location near the railway station.
The idea of a language school
From the beginning, our idea was to create a school where children could develop their language skills from the first grade, without having to attend additional afternoon classes outside school. We wanted students to spend their time in a safe, friendly and inspiring place - a place where education is combined with care for relationships, emotional development and the individual needs of every child.
It was the language profile that made our school stand out from other institutions in the city. Extended foreign language learning became the foundation of our work. From the youngest years, students develop communication skills and take part in international projects, language workshops and educational initiatives. The school has participated in Erasmus+ projects, hosted groups of students from Latvia, and our students have taken part in Euroweek and numerous activities developing social and intercultural competences.

Small scale, relationships and support
From the beginning, the intimate scale of the school and small classes were extremely important to us. This makes it possible to take an individual approach to each student, build close relationships and create an atmosphere of safety and mutual respect. We also provide special care for students with certificates confirming the need for special education. We have created an open, supportive and friendly space for both children and their parents. Our extensive psychological and pedagogical support and committed team of specialists care every day for students’ wellbeing and safety.
The school patron
An important moment in the school’s history was the choice of its patron, Agnieszka Holland. The decision was made by the Student Council. Students were looking for a patron who would symbolise courage, ambition, tolerance and openness to others. Agnieszka Holland’s work, full of empathy, social sensitivity and reflection on humanity, became close to the values of our school. It was also important to highlight the role of strong women in educational and social life.
Development and achievements
Over the following years, the school developed dynamically. Our students achieve very high results in English in the eighth-grade exam, succeed in subject competitions and olympiads, and gain experience through numerous educational projects. Every year, the school also receives the Orły Edukacji distinction, confirming the quality of our work and the trust of parents.
The school today
Today, Językowa Szkoła Podstawowa imienia Agnieszki Holland is a place that not only follows the national curriculum and develops language competences, but above all educates young people to become empathetic, aware and socially responsible. We teach sensitivity, respect, cooperation and engagement. We organise volunteering activities, charity campaigns and social projects because we believe that true education is not only about gaining knowledge, but also about shaping good and wise people.
